For the sixth year, Nintendo returned to San Diego Comic-Con setting up its popular Nintendo Lounge and fans couldn’t get enough.

In years past, the lounge was a huge room filled with new and upcoming video games where all the fans mingled. They also had the chance to win prizes by collecting stamps after each game they played.

This year, the room was divided into two sections:

1 The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tournament Lounge where fans itching to get a sneak peek at the much anticipated “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.” Gamers can choose to play as all the characters ever created within the franchise. That’s right. You can be Mario, Sonic, the Wii Yoga Trainer or Ness.  After playing two rounds, the winner of the second bout was awarded a Smash emblem pin. As soon as it was won, the player was asked to leave the tournament area but they could get back in line to play another two rounds. That line went pretty quick.

2 The Nintendo Family Lounge was set up a place families could play different games, including “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,” “Super Mario Bros. Odyssey,” and “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” while earning and collecting stamps on a card. Players then turn in the card for prizes.

The staff at Nintendo is really amazing. They really spend time with the fans at their displays and demo tables making sure that all the questions were answered and consumers would be able to make satisfying purchases.

The Nintendo Lounge was set up again at the Marriott next to the San Diego Convention Center and it was free to anyone with or without an SDCC badge .

On the last day of SDCC, Nintendo gave the fans leftover unclaimed swag. Those who stayed until the very end were rewarded.
