The largest and nerdiest pop-culture convention kicked off Wednesday in San Diego but just because it’s billed as a sneak peak doesn’t mean the night was light on surprises.
One of the biggest winners of the night was Fox’s Deadpool. In one of the most creative marketing campaigns, the Merc with the Mouth’s face was plastered on thousands of toilet seat covers within the San Diego Convention Center’s bathrooms.
The booty gaskets were so popular, many fans swiped the covers as souvenirs. And as most people know, all things SDCC tend to find their way onto eBay and the Deadpool covers were no exception.
But the peopled behind Deadpool weren’t stopping at bathroom hygiene products. Oh no. One of the most popular attractions on the floor Wednesday was the Deadpool Super Duper Dance Party where an animatronic Merc sang and shimmied to Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” as a plushy band played in the backgound.

Preview night had a lot for everyone and it’s just a taste of what’s to come.
Hope to see you all out there this weekend and remember to bring along some sturdy shoes and some pain meds.
